Just added ForesTalk today, a social network similar to FaceBook but dedicated to this community. Comments are very welcome since the whole point of Forest Club is to promote interaction between viewers.

While this site continues to be idle, there has been some interest in developing the club further and getting some dialog started. Might be a good idea now as we approach spring to have a face2face somewhere soon - possibly at the Barrie Public Library or at the Bayfield Mall Community Room.
Our first snow day was yesterday and is the first real snowfall we've had so far this winter. If you haven't done so already, let me know if you are interested in helping get the club on track by clicking on "Contact" to the left. MC. The map section of this site provides some continuity from the local to the global perspective. If you see better maps for any of these sections please let me know at [email protected].
MTFBWY. mc. The grass is riz (getting there). Easter Monday today and finally about to emerge from the snow. Finished raking the yard, and had lawns perforated, so I guess grass will grow - along with the weeds. Knotweed had really taken over much of the back yard last year. Maybe the long, deep winter may make a difference, but I doubt it. With three Goldens running around the back yard it is mostly a lost cause anyway.
Here we go once more. Perhaps it is time to try a physical meeting again, to kindle a local club and who knows - with enough fuel it could take off and become a serious conflagration. OK - enough metaphors already!
This is the first entry of many to follow for 2014.
The goal of this website is to provide a focal point for all interested forestry clubs/groups/associations to share observations, media and viewpoints world-wide. The hope is that we will discover that all our concerns have similarities and that the most important issues can be universally addressed. The website will offer a starting point for groups/clubs/associations to get together as a single worldwide club. While the central theme addresses interests in forests and forestry, we might find that other concerns related to our global environment will inevitably surface. More to follow, so please visit the rest of this site and take part in this worthwhile project. I will try to maintain this blog weekly. MC. |
